1. IBM Quantum Updates
A decade of quantum on the cloud!
On 4 May 2016, IBM put the first quantum computer on the cloud.
It was a seminal moment in computing history, and for thousands of early users who would get their first experience with real quantum hardware in the months and years to follow.
Today, we celebrate a tremendous milestone: ten years of cloudaccessible quantum computing!
Collaboration btw RIKEN, Cleveland Clinic and IBM
• Researchers from Cleveland Clinic, RIKEN, and IBM demonstrated a milestone in quantum-centric supercomputing (QCSC) by simulating a protein–ligand complex containing more than 12,000 atoms.
• This is the largest-known quantum-enabled chemistry simulation ever performed and represents a major step toward making quantum computing useful for real scientific discovery.
• Used 2 superconducting processors (ibm_cleveland and ibm_kobe) and 2 leadership-class supercomputers (Fugaku and Miyabi-G)
